The At-At commander has always had a special look for me – especially in that scene where he appears with the driver: the contrast between the white ( grey) helmets and the open face of the character was so powerful visually.
I decided to make that character thinking it would be easy enough…it was not entirely so. The first hurdles were the greeblies which I had to reprint in order to have “claener” edges. My biggest challenge was finding the right color for the armor. I believe I repainted the armor 4 times before finding the right green.
I learned the hard way that it probably is better to test the paint on a smaller peiece of plastic before painting the entire armor…3 times over ! Although some of the colours that were used – if not accurate – looked gorgeous.
