The Walking Dead is the show that reconnected me ( and so many others) with the world of zombies. I always liked zombies but somehow nothing really good existed on that theme until TWD. It seemed fitting to do a crossover, especially since the death trooper existed in the expanded universe.
The incredible freedom you have to interpret the character was a huge drive for me. Putting my thoughts into where zombies would attack, the scratch marks, the bit marks , how the armor should look like; building it first before trashing it…it was a rush.
Then the detailing, imagining the armor “plastoid” being layered and having to show some of these tiny details. The zombie trooper is the first time I actually felt as if I was working to create my own vision which could be used on a set.
